Tim Kreis, saxophone

Born and raised in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains, Tim Kreis came up in the California traditional jazz scene – performing consistently in festivals throughout the Golden State. He attended the Mike Curb College of Performing Arts and Media at California State University, Northridge on a music scholarship from the Herb Alpert Foundation where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music degree in jazz performance. He then attained a Master of Music degree in jazz performance from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University where he worked with the likes of Walter Smith III, John Raymond, Michael Spiro, and Wayne Wallace.

Tim has since built a career around Pop, R&B, and Americana music, which has landed him in Nashville, Tennessee where he plays saxophone and other woodwinds with a number of artists and theater companies in the region. Tim has performed with: The War & Treaty, The Jeff Hamilton Trio, Chris Potter, Mic Gillette, Tom Hook, Wendell Brunious, Joel Frahm, Chester Thompson, Alphonso Johnson, Ruslan Sirota, Byron Stripling, Jeff Silbar, and several other Grammy Award winning and nominated artists and producers.
